2014 Faculty Summer Institute. - Online and Face-to-Face Teaching: Realizing the Best of Both Worlds

May 20-21, 2014 | Webb University Center
Old Dominion University | Norfolk, VA

To engage faculty from all across the Commonwealth in a dialogue about ways to realize the best of both worlds (F2F and online), CLT invites faculty to reflect together and to share their perspectives on the following questions:

1. What pedagogical practices best foster effective face-to-face teaching?
2. What pedagogical practices best foster effective online teaching?
3. How are online teaching and face-to-face teaching alike and how are they different?
4. What are some of the best practices that you use (or would like to use) to integrate or interchange face-to-face teaching with online teaching?
5. How can faculty best assist students to learn how to learn?
6. How can both faculty and students become reflective practitioners in F2F and online?
7. What effective assessment practices have you utilized in your teaching?

This event is designed to be of interest to all faculty members throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and nearby states.
